Dr Quan Ngo is a Specialist Plastic Surgeon in Sydney. He graduated in Medicine with Honours from the University of New South Wales in 2001, and received the University of Sydney Postgraduate Award Scholarship and multiple accolades during his postgraduate medical studies. Dr Ngo finished his Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery training with the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons in Sydney in 2010.
Doctor Ngo completed further Fellowship training in the UK, France and Taiwan. He has a wide range of both Australian and international experience in microsurgical reconstructive surgery, with a special focus on the Head & Neck region, where he regularly receives referrals from specialist colleagues regarding cancer surgery, reconstructive surgery, and trauma surgery for the facial region. He is known for the incorporation of innovative technologies to optimise patient care and outcomes, and enjoys the challenges of implementing the latest advancements to improve both patient understanding of their condition, as well as surgical results.
Dr Quan Ngo is the Head of Department of the Plastic, Reconstructive and Maxillofacial Trauma Surgery unit at Liverpool Hospital, the second largest hospital in New South Wales and one of the leading trauma centres in Australia. He has a been a Consultant Plastic Surgeon at Liverpool Hospital since 2011, providing a plastic surgery service to the community of South West Sydney, while training the next generation of Australian Plastic Surgeons.
Dr Ngo is also a current Consultant Specialist Plastic Surgeon at Chris O’Brien Lifehouse, Macquarie University Hospital, Bankstown Hospital, Sydney Southwest Private Hospital and Campbelltown Private Hospital. He has previously held Consultant Specialist Plastic Surgeon appointments at both St Vincent’s Public and Private Hospitals, as well as Westmead Public and Private Hospitals.
Dr Quan Ngo is widely recognised by other Plastic Surgeons for his experience and continued efforts in teaching Plastic & Reconstructive Surgery Specialist Trainees, having won accolades such as Best Teacher of the Year and Best Teaching Session of the Year. Dr Quan Ngo greatly enjoys the imparting of knowledge to more junior doctors and has been a Senior Clinical Lecturer at Macquarie University Hospital since 2014.
Dr Ngo has been actively involved in the Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons, the peak body representing both reconstructive and cosmetic Australian Specialist Plastic Surgeons. Dr Quan Ngo served six years first as Secretary of the NSW Branch, and then as Councillor for the National body of the Society.
Doctor Quan Ngo has also sat on the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons Surgical Education and Training (SET) Program Selection Committee for Specialist Training in Plastic Surgery for many years and as a Member of the Clinical Advisory Group for Head & Neck Cancers of the Cancer Institute NSW.
In keeping with his focus on the Head & Neck region, Dr Ngo also performs facial cosmetic surgery and in particular has an interest in bony contour and reshaping work.
